The Rev. Allan Eckert was born in Brownwood, Texas on October 9, 1962. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood by the Rev. Thomas Sorensen. Allan grew up in Ft. Worth where he attended Zion Lutheran School. He was confirmed at Zion in Ft. Worth by the Rev. John Socha. His confirmation verse was Revelation 2:10, "Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life." He attended The University of Texas at Arlington where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. He married Caroline Marie Jones on October 13, 1984 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ft. Worth with the Rev. Reinhard (Dick) Wuensche performing the ceremony. Allan and Caroline have two children, Sarah and Jacob, and three grandchildren. Allan attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. After completing his seminary education he was called to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kingsville, Texas where he was blessed to serve as pastor for nearly seventeen years. For a number of years he served permanent vacancies in Alice and Three Rivers. He also served as the Circuit Visitor for the Coastal Bend. During those years Caroline served as a teacher at St. Paul Lutheran School in Bishop, just seven miles up the road.
